Healing is Our Natural Birthright ✨
Let’s talk about mental health and wellness, especially with regard to somatic experiencing and movement. I am enjoying reading Dr.Gabor Mate at the moment, he is a physician and researcher. He is inspirational.
Even with the latest research about body-mind connections, we still don’t know how to fully harness the power of our nervous system and body. Our bodies have an intuitive way of healing, fundamentally we don’t know how to trust it and listen to its signals. The word healing has an ancient origin meaning WHOLE. We are already whole, and we have never been less than whole.
We need to make the paradigm shift in mental health by using movement, tapping, and somatic experiences (feeling-based experiences) to become unstuck. Healing is our natural birthright.
I have found with numerous clients that generally people do not know what to do with unprocessed feelings states and big emotions. As infants we naturally express our emotions and needs; we know when our bodies need something. It is no different as adults; we need to get back to ‘feeling our body’ and being curious.
Unprocessed emotions can predispose us to all kinds of illnesses. There is research stating how unprocessed anger can have long-term impacts in later in life. Many times, we numb things because of pain and discomfort.
The answer is we need to acknowledge our feelings slowly and begin to relate to the body and listen to the pain with compassion.
This is where we start to stop the cycle.
We need to become fluent in the language of sensations in our bodies.
Our bodies hold the key to great health and wisdom.
This is why I am so passionate about the language of sensations.
