The other day at my yoga Christmas dinner. One of my gorgeous friends, was telling me a story about how she was told how GOOD she looks by her ex-boyfriend.
I thought to myself, that she was going to say something like ‘Oh no I am not, I am fat, I am flabby’. BUT what this goddess did, was she looked the guy straight in the eye, and said
’ Yeah I know I am!’
I felt like screaming and celebrating this moment! A woman owning her power and accepting it!
I ask you, how many of us own a compliment.
So, I challenge you!
Next time you are given a compliment, claim and own it.
So, say something like ‘Thank you, for noticing my……..’ or simply say ‘thank you’ without denying or minimising the compliment.
It can feel awkward and uncomfortable, in the beginning accepting compliments. But this is a small practice of owning our power and being the gift.
So, let’s try it over Christmas and be the GIFT! Accept the compliment, and say it with a smile, it also acknowledges the other person, and it makes a deeper connection. Also why not give a compliment back and share in the power of connection. PAY IT FORWARD.
